You ever have those days where you just cant imagine doing anything else but laying in your bed all day? Well.... I am having one of those days.
Nothing is wrong, I am not sick...just cant find anything else worth doing right now. My body is physically and emotionally exhausted from work these last few days. Been super busy with the makeup/hair business which is a plus! BUT it does take a lot out of a person.
SO. I called off. Took a personal day. Didn't attend my classes and am having a "pamper" day :)

Spiders
Some people in my life find it hilarious that I am afraid of spiders due to the fact that halloween is by far my favorite holiday. Although spiders don't entirely symbolize halloween they tend to go hand in hand with one another. Let's be serious.... Who even likes spiders? I mean I have a bipolar outlook to them sometimes but majority of the time they freak me out.
Today, as I went to get into the shower a spider crawled out from underneath the bathroom door... I proceeded to scream. The spider was a clear color and had long reddish brown legs. (GROSS!) He kept stretching his legs out as if he was saying "Danielle, Here I am" or maybe he was just doing yoga.
REGARDLESS it grossed me out. Lets flashback a few years.... When I was little I would always call my mother or my father to come save me from the "bad guy" AKA the tiny spider crawling on my wall. As I got older I found hairspray to be a spiders kryptonite. It kills them instantly. Granted there would be a nice spot on your wall from the hairspray remains as well as the curled up little spider but in reality it seems more sane then grabbing it with a tissue.
Okay back to today.... So this little fellow was just looking at me... with however many eyes spiders have...and I just couldn't handle him being in the same room with me, knowing he could possible escape just irked me. So I took a cup and trapped the spider. Stood there watching him run around in a circle trying to figure out what was going on.... then decided that he was far to gross for me to be comfortable having him in the room. So I pulled a 7th grade science trick and got a cotton ball filled with nail polish remover and tossed it underneath the cup to accompany the spider.... I proceeded to get into the shower and continued about my day...
...The cup along with the cotton ball and the most likely curled up spider still remains on my bathroom floor and will stay there for the night.

BEDTIME
Remember having a bedtime? Where mom and dad would scold you to put your pajamas on, brush your teeth, floss and get into bed... If you had brothers or sisters you would stay up whispering to each other until your parents yelled at you to keep it down and get some sleep... AND there was always the threat of..."JUST WAIT UNTIL THE MORNING! YOU ARE GOING TO BE SO TIRED" ....and 99% of the time you were very tired and very crappy in the morning.....
Well what about the nightmares, the bedbugs or scary stories you used to hear from your siblings or classmates that would keep you lying awake with your eyes WIDE OPEN and your ears on full alert.... When you would crawl under all your covers no matter how hot, cold or uncomfortable you were because it felt completely safe under there.. Not even a toe or finger could be exposed or else the monsters would find you.
Are any of these bringing back memories of being little???
I have an 8 -year- old little sister, Her name is Claire and I get to relive these experiences...There are the same exact stories that the boys in class would taunt us girls with....the same excuses behind why mom, dad or in Claire's case DD ( which is what she calls me ) HASSS to sleep in the same bed with you...the same explanation to why you need all these lights on and how you will sleep WAY better with them on rather than off....Or in my case when I was little I would make my brothers sleep on my floor next to my bed..... hahaha... such good brothers I had.....Its crazy how much things are the same.
While telling Claire bedtime stories this got me thinking about when I was a little girl and the things I would say to my parents and how I would go about my sleeping arrangements each night....I mean I would literally plan out what tactic I was going to throw down each night and even had back up plans in case my parents didn't buy into my stories......So I challenge you to think.....What ridiculous things would you do when you were little to "keep the monsters away"??
NEW BLOGGGGGG
Soooo.... I decided to separate my "personal" blogs/stories from my "professional" working stories/blogs.... That way we don't all get confused! PLUS! This blog will allow you to kind of get inside my head and see through my eyes. I will be telling you stories about my life.....just daily postings about whats going on inside my head... what I think about certain things etc..... It'll be fun, I PROMISE!
WELL Lets get started... My name is Danielle Ruggiero. I am a Freelance Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist for the Chicagoland area. I absolutely LOVE what I do and cant picture myself doing anything different. It wasn't always this easy for me though. I went to College and tried to pursue other aspects of occupation but they just didn't fit into my lifestyle. I just wasn't happy with what I chose.. So I searched and searched and found myself always coming back to this aspect in career... The "beauty" industry... The "special effects"...People often ask me, "Why makeup... Why hair.... Why do I do what I do for a living?" And I simply answer them by saying....I do this for that look after you finish doing a brides hair or makeup...before she is about to walk down the aisle....The look after you cut 12--inches off of someones hair and "change their lives" by adjusting their look....The feeling you get when they hug you and say " I LOVE IT"... The emails/messages I get from people asking advice about makeup or hair... I chose this career because I love what it is all about.. Makeup isn't just something you simple apply and go about your day..Makeup is only skin deep.....There is so much more to makeup..... The application of makeup is very life changing.... It is almost like a type of therapy for me. People can come to you as is and you can make them feel better by just simply hanging out with them for a few hours and for me... doing what I love to do. I love making people feel better about themselves.. I love helping people see the beauty in themselves... I love helping people feel more confident about their appearance. Its a very fulfilling job that I have... NOWWW I am not saying that everyday is a piece of cake and that everyone is always pleased and walks out with a smile on their face. BUT for those who do... there is a great deal of accomplishment from that... and its a feeling that only few have felt.
I have a larger size family.... I am the oldest of Two brothers, One sisters.... they are my best friends for sure. I am not sure what I would do without them. They keep me sane and drive me insane all in one.. My parents are divorced, I live with my mom majority of the time. They are both remarried and I gratefully get along with both of my step parents... I hate the word "step".... I just tell people I am fortunate enough to have two moms and two dads.... :) Its easier that way. My family is my core. I would be no where without them... They have been there thru anything... Theres that saying that : "we start with family and end with family...." It is SOOO true. No matter where life takes you.. Family is always #1 and will always be there supporting you no matter what your choices are. I am grateful to have such an amazing family :)!
Lets seeeee what else should I tell you about me before I go into all these stories.....
FUN FACTS:
-I don't have a favorite color....
-I love all types of music....
-I am a HUGE movie buff.... especially Horror films....
-Octopuses scare the living bejesus outta me... ( No, I have never personally seen one live.. but seen enough movies on them to be scared outta my mind. )
-I love writing... ( Not sure if I am any good at it.. but I enjoy it so hell I am going to keep at it.. )
-I have a dog named Bosley ( No, not like Charlie's Angels.. but like the hair restoration shampoo...)
